ORA-04031 Cannot allocate shared memory

Cause: More shared memory is needed than was allocated in the shared pool, large pool.

Action: If the shared pool is out of memory, fragmented shared pool, large pool size is not sufficient then this error occurs.

You need change shared memory parameters according to your physical RAM and SWAP size. First, you need to check how much size was allocated and what is required to resolve this issue. Sometimes, background processes are consuming too much memory then also your database will encounter this critical error.

You must inform our support staff with full detail of error for further investigation and resolve this critical issue.
